The Besieged Nation of Hexania[]
For as long as anyone can remember, Hexania has been beset by no-good hags. The citizens of Hexania could not possibly hope to contend with the powerful practitioners of dark magic, and so the leaders of the nation looked into the expanse of magical powers and happened upon a mysterious being! This creature offered them a path to easily counter the hags with seemingly little downside! The people with the best capacity for magical power would be offered a chance to combat the hags for a single wish (within reason, of course). And so, a colorful tapestry of battle was woven into the history of Hexania.
Mostly female, 'Magical Girls' are basically treated as celebrities in Hexania, and their battles against the hags are grand spectacles whenever they come up, hardly treated as serious anymore. Though given the Dark Lord has reportedly made contact with the hags, who knows how long that will last...
